Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced professional to fill a dual Architectural & Civil Engineer role. This position demands a blend of creative vision and technical expertise to manage the planning, design, and execution of diverse construction projects, from aesthetic conceptualization to ensuring structural safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between architectural design and civil engineering principles, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-quality structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning: Develop creative design concepts and detailed technical drawings and blueprints using CAD and BIM software, integrating both architectural and structural elements.
- Aesthetics & Functionality: Focus on the aesthetic appeal, spatial functionality, and overall layout of a building while ensuring the design is structurally sound and safe for various loads (e.g., wind, earthquakes, heavy use).
- Structural Analysis: Conduct site investigations, perform feasibility studies, and analyze soil and other data to determine appropriate structural designs and materials.
- Project Management: Manage projects from inception to completion, including preparing cost estimates, defining timelines, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs and construction comply with federal, state, and local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Collaboration & Supervision: Liaise with clients, contractors, specialist consultants, and a diverse range of stakeholders. Supervise on-site construction to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Problem-Solving: Provide advice and creatively resolve any emerging design or construction problems/deficiencies that arise during a project’s lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from an accredited program is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or a professional Architectural license is required, depending on the specific legal requirements of the practicing location.
- Experience: A minimum of 0 – 2 years of proven working experience in a related architectural or civil engineering role.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and design.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
